LIBERTAD.

Freedom, freedom, freedom, what is freedom, and why do I care about freedom. Freedom of speech they argue, but what it entails is far more complicated than what they think. Poor freedom, I feel bad for you because you’re a sense of humanity but only exist in the head, I can’t see you, I can’t feel you, I want to but I can’t, you’re an experience, I can’t put all my eggs in one bucket, I can’t trust you, believe me, I want to, you’re only in my head, only the rich can afford you, the only thing that the rich and the poor have in common is that we can all die, some faster than others but the key of the point is that we all go through it one way or another, that seems to be the only fair thing in life, we come alone in this world and we all leave alone, what did you leave behind is the real question, did you leave pain to the people you love, sure but that is inevitable to some extent, what type of pain did you leave? What type of pain do you want to leave behind?

Freedom, the poor can’t afford you, you’re too expensive for our liking, you’re too expensive for my liking, what are you and why do you even exist, you make my heart pound faster every time I think I’m close to getting you, what is your problem, what is wrong with you, why do you exist, you’re a good thing but only for those who know your use, most of us don’t and that is the sad part, what are you freedom, what are you? You say you want to be a part of us, you say you want to be a part of ME. Show yourself, freedom for the poor is only in the mind. Slaved away all our lives to do everything we can to acquire you but you’re never in reach, the closer our hands get to you the farther you keep on moving, why are you playing this game, it’s not funny anymore and any sane person can attest to this, what are you LIBERTAD?

They say I have freedom of speech, say what’s in my heart without it being against the law. That is a good thing but just like everything else you’re always going to have people who mistreat that law and do everything in their power to technically play by the rules. What do I mean by this, well, the court system and the law itself are the best we as humans can come up with something that keeps our society in check, it is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, we keep striving for that, the law in its details change or rather improve all the time. Now with this in mind let’s go back to the technicality of the law, the law being technical, just like everything else in life can be a good and a bad thing. We all know what emotional damage is, but the way the law defines this can make people not want to get into a relationship, words said when one is angry can all be classified as things that instill emotional damage, the technicality of it is what scares me, it doesn’t matter if you said them in a jokingly manner, it doesn’t matter if you were angry and in the heat of the moment, the technicality of it is that you did say the words, and the only answers the opposing lawyers will accept from you to such a question is a YES or a NO, as a law-abiding civilian that is scary to me. Is that really freedom, what is freedom, what is LIBERTAD.
